occassionally, newsletters and forums send emails with BACKDATED or FUTURE dated emails. I don’t know how gmail handles it BUT yahoo does NOT handle them very well. So, you might want to check to see if they might be in page 2,3,…. n ?
Type “label:Unread” in your gmail Search box and it should show you your unread emails.
..or people on google are just getting bored and playing tricks on random people like you.
